What's Next?

What’s next for Ambush Alley Games? That’s the question we hear the most these days, and to be perfectly honest its one we’ve been struggling with for a while.

I’m sure all of you noticed that we were pretty quiet on the production front last year, only releasing By Dagger or Talon at the very beginning of the year. That lull in AAG activity was unfortunate and unavoidable. We’re a smallish company, consisting of four partners who are all, to varying degrees, human beings. Last year came at all four of us like a pack of rabid wolves – all of our families experienced set-backs and misadventures ranging from injuries and deaths to employment upheavals. There were good things, too, like marriages and births, but 2014 was universally a hard year for the AAG crew, much to the detriment of the time and energy we had to focus on creating cool games.

We were also all a little tired. During our association with Osprey, we produced two core rulebooks and nine full-sized companion books. To put that in perspective, we produced 1,770 pages of rules and scenarios in less than two years, with all but BDOT being delivered under stringent deadlines. It was fun and challenging, but it was also exhausting.

That’s the past, though – let’s talk about the future!

I can’t go into a lot of detail at this point on the big, new projects we’re working on this year, but I can tell you that we have two big, new games in the works. One of those projects takes us back to our roots and the other takes us into uncharted territory. I’m very excited about both of them, and I think you will be, too!

I know a lot of you have been waiting for an updated version of Ambush Z and I can say that one of our Skunkworks projects will bring that fond wish closer to fruition!

I know this isn’t a very informative post, but I wanted you all to know we are hard at work on new and (I think) wonderful stuff for release this year. We’re out of the doldrums and making good seaway! I’ll share more information with you as soon as I can!
